My perfect summer eve

Home at 5:45.
Greeted by a very enthusiastic Border Collie.
We walk down the familiar track to the overgrown field and I throw the ball.
Gazelle like he bounds around until, panting like the Flying Scotsman, we make our way home in the almost sultry summer glow.
To the local pub me and Mrs Zacs head and we sit in the half shelter of the beer gardens smoking area, The setting sun peeping through the boughs and leaves of the 600 year old oak on the village green.
Joined by friends we quaff ale and swap stories of our recent happenings. No wind for a change. Just like when I was a child.
A final walk for Zac as the windows of the houses turn midnight blue. And home.
