Is this a First Edition?

I have a few books that I intend to sell on Amazon.

I need to know whether if some of the books are First Editions. I know this probably wont add much value to recently published books, but it might help to sell if I include the words 'First Edition' on my blurb.

On the copyright pages of the books concerned there are the following numbers:

2 4 6 8 10 9 7 5 3 1 ...... This is a Virgin Book

10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 ...... This is from Headline Book Publishing

1 ................................This is on a HarperSport book

You might tell from my question that I'm an amateur when it comes to selling books! I'm presuming that the figure '1' means a First Edition, but I'd welcome comments from someone who knows what they're talking about. Any other comments on selling books would also be welcome. Thank you.

Thank you rojash. I did an internet search before posting my question but obviously didn't check Wikipedia. Have now bookmarked it for future reference.
Believe it or not I just pasted "2 4 6 8 10 9 7 5 3 1" into Google and it found the wiki entry
