Is there anyway to heal/repair them so they can grow out normally? I have a split on the left edge of my right thumb. The nail will grow...then the split causes it to catch on things and I have to trim it down very short.

Perhaps a little dab of Crazy Glue?
Question Author
I'd probably glue my fingers together....:-(

Still haven't gotten 'stewey' back??
To be honest, Pasta, I haven't really tried that hard; however, I'm hesitant to post new threads under "stuey" as I get an email every time I get a response, and I find this irritating. I "unchecked" the box which asks if I want to subscribe to my threads, but I still get emails. Anyway, try applying a small amount of glue using a toothpick.
Stuey....change your email address on here. Open a hotmail account.
Ummmm, I have changed my email on here and "they" wouldn't let me have my old name.

Have you tried 'contact us'?...there should be an option to contact the Ed. I'm sure he'd look into it.

Meanwhile...I need a few more ideas for my split nails...
A bit long winded but the idea seems popular - Google Teabag Nail Wraps if you don't want to watch the Video.

I've not looked at that video,mamya...but I did try a patch with a teabag. It was messy doing it with my left hand. I also worried about getting glue on my skin. Maybe I'll ask my daughter to do it when she next visits.
You can buy a clear nail polish called "Hard-as-nails" (with Nylon) by Sally Hansen which will hold it in place until it able to grow out.
Often use it on a damaged finger nail.
