Getting a flight to San Francisco when in Las Vegas

I am spending a couple of weeks in Las Vegas but would also like to visit San Francisco for a couple of days.  I already have my UK to Las Vegas flights booked but don't want to actually plan the trip to SF.  Do I just turn up at Las Vegas airport and ask at any airline to purchase a return ticket with just my UK passport?

That's probably an excellent method of being detained by TSA (Transportation Security Administration) since one-way, cash in hand, walk-up passengers are highly suspect.  Better,  as many days in advance as you can make a reservation.  The farther ahead, up to 15 days, the better the price.  You can use a number of on-line services, but here's one... (I arbitrarily put in departing September 15 as an example)...

Thanks Clanad but it is a return trip I want, if only for a couple of days, and I wouldn't be paying cash - I know American citizens can do this as standard I just wondered whether a Brit on holiday could do the same.

u can go to the airport,,

but as in the previous answer it is better when in las vagas (LAS) to just go on to the internet and buy a rtn on any of the airlines..if u buy at a/p u will be asked a lot of questions by the airport security more than normal as ur boarding card/tkt will/could be marked as suspect person...

i am sure their r a lot of flights from LAS to SFO... and i think they will be/r every 1 or maybe every 2hrs, this is just a guess...

they do have no frills airlines out in the states as this is also were they originated in the us, so look out,,,

On the strip, there are loads of travel offices that organise trips to the Grand Canyon etc, they will be happy to book you on to flights for a small commission.
