Odd question, hence putting in Chatterbank.
Have got some old clothing I want to give directly to a place that will use it, maybe a shelter or someone collecting clothing because it’s needed – I don’t want to take it to a charity shop.
I’m in South Manchester / Cheshire. Any suggestions?

Give the Salvation Army a call and ask if they can use the clothing to give to people visiting their shelters over the winter, Anax....I have done this.

Many churches and charities organise dinners for homeless folk over Christmas....they may be able to offer suggestions...x
Here's a list of homeless shelters/charities in the south Manchester area. I'm sure some will be able to use clothing. Do call beforehand though,as charities can be inundated with donations this time of the year. Sometimes theres too much of a good thing! At the charity I work for,we were getting massive amounts of clothing...and food...as last minute donations late yesterday.

Thanks chaps! Turns out living in Macclesfield makes things awkward; have to go as far as Buxton for Salvation Army or Didsbury for Shelter. Will keep looking.
SA may collect if they have anyone near you...just a thought...x
