Does anyone know the author of the novel entitled Class; it's about a painter in Oxford. I'm slowly going through Amazon.co.uk, but there are so many versions of the word class, title-wise. Ta Muchly.
Are you sure that you've got the exact title? By law, a copy of every book published in the UK has to be deposited with the British Library but their catalogue only lists six books with the one-word title 'Class' and they're all non-fiction works.
Hi Chris anD Many Thanks for what you've done so far. All I can add is that it's a recent book, reviewed in 2015, in the Daily Mail I think and I'm sure it was that one word title - and I'm up to page 10, item 145 in amazon so far!
Many Thanks for all your research, Chris, Fitzer and Mamya and I agree that the synopsis doesn't read right and I would have been stymied with an ebook anyway.
But in all the 10 pages so far on Amazon, Alison Hathaway didn't come up, so hopefully if I continue, then the right book may appear - such is love.
Pat Barker has a trilogy entitled Life Class, of which the third book Noonday came out in 2015, the first novel,Life Class, is set in the Slade School of art
I was thinking about the third book being reviewed in 2015 and referring back to the first, I know it's clutching at straws but when your needle is in a haystack that's what you do :-)
I'm sorry Fitzer, it's nowt to do with Pat Barker's stuff, my partner's read those and it was she who mentioned the Class novel, but I can't ask her for more details as it is - if I find it - to be part of her birthday pressie, but Many Thanks anyway.
