Author P H Newby And Radio 4

I have just acquired a very rare book signed by the above, who won the first ManBooker prize in 1969.

He has inscribed it to Bryan Magee who presented a Radio 4 programme and who interviewed Mr Newby on his show.

Can anyone tell me anything about Bryan Magee as I am curious?

Thanks Mamya, I can see it was broadcast on Radio 3 not Radio 4!

He presented a (Sunday evening?) series on TV on modern philosophers. Can't remember the people he interviewed except (I think) Chomsky talking about linguistics. I would have been in my twenties then, so that's back in the late sixties
