Believe it or not, around 1950, a London grammar school religious studies master abandoned the subject to read humorous stories.
This old memory goes back to around 1950 and is about a short story by an American? writer - Stephen Leacock? in which a man and a woman are on a staircase and he said, "Madam, you've got face like a horse ...."
Can anyone identify this quote?
