They are all excellent readers but, when asked about what they had read, they said they didn't know but hurried through the book to "get it over with"
I have a feeling they may not be readers in the future!

Alas, too much moralising in them for today's amoral generation.
The latter certainly featured in my childhood reading but not the former for some reason (post-Victorian sexism I suspect). I have of course read it since as it is one of the classics.
