Books on theorists in Early Childhood Studies

I'm doing a degree in Early Childhood Studies and wanted to find books on early years theorists i.e. Piaget, Vygotsky, Bruner, Bruce, Edgington and many more.

I need to find a book based on their theories & work, which I can then relate to practice when working with children in writing essays. I want to find something about this which is easy to read and understandable.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

best book ever is

A child's mind, not sure of the author though but you'll be able to find it on amazon no problem. really good on theory, got piaget, chomsky, freud, etc

i read in first year of uni and it is easy to read and quite interesting too.
