Oxford English Dictionary
1 Answers
I read on TV text pages that a think-tank has called for the Oxford English Dictionary to be scrapped and replaced by a website of publicly suggested words. How on earth can people learn to read and write without a dictionary? Several ABers have been honest enough to admit to spelling problems - I wonder how they feel about the way they were taught. Aren't alphabetical dictionaries used any more? If this idea catches on, future generations will be grunting once for 'Yes' and twice for 'No'. What do others think?
