Crime Writer

Yesterday 27/04/07 I read an article in the Mirror (Or maybe Sun) News Paper about a Crime Writer and as I am always looking for The works of Crime Writers To read I meant to make a note of the Writer's name but was distracted, his books have been likened to the Morse Novels and His Detective is male and the Writer's First name is James, Can anyone tekk me who he was as I can then think about reading his books.

Is it James Patterson? His Detective is Alex Cross, played by Morgan Freeman in the films of the books. But these books are psychological thrillers not really akin to Morse

Could also of course be P D James.
More likely, as it is set in the UK and Adam Dalgleish is the detective played of course by the lovely Roy Marsden.

A favourite of mine is James Lee Burke whose detective is named Dave Robicheaux.
I think you would enjoy J L Burke.
