May I recommend this author?

One of our best contemporary English writers, he has written crime and thrillers, but my favourites are his horror and dark tales. For the beginner, I would recommend Spanky, which is a kind of Faustian story set in modern day London, but his short story collections like Demonised and Personal Demons are so versatile. Real can't-put-down stuff at bedtime.

I haven't read those you mention as horror doesn't appeal to me but his Bryant and May series is brilliant .
