PMSL! That's about what it was worth when it first came out!
I have the first edition of the first two books but I'm not parting with them.
There was also a book I read when I was a teenager that I loved, I recently did a search for it and came across a site selling first editions. Well, it transpires that I wasn't the only one to love the book and they're going for, on average, 800!
No way was I paying that, so I did a search on e-bay and I won a bid for a first edition for...........1p!!!!!! *and* the seller described it as mint condition because it was gifted to her, she didn't fancy it and it's been sitting on a book shelf for all these years, she wasn't wrong there, it really is mint condition!
Clearly, the seller didn't do her research and I'm quids in very soon!

Tell me about it!!
The author crumbled under pressure and paid for the printers to re-print and is selling them from her own website for 11.99 (not first editions, obviously), so I bought one from her (she signed it too, which was nice of her) for me to read and saved the one from ebay so it remains mint condition.
I think I'll wait until later in the year before selling it and keep the money aside for crimble prezzies :0)
