similar to Neruda ?

Hello,

My girlfriend is obssessed with Pablo Neruda, the Chilean poet.

I'd like to find a poet similar to him in his style of writing or someone who is on a par with Neruda in terms of his writing words and phrasing about love. This doesn't mean the poet has to be Latin American.Esentially any modern poets that have written about love. I realise that there are countless, but akin to Neruda if you catch my drift.

I'm something of an ignoramus when it comes to poetry - any suggestions to whom I might look into?

I find that an impossible question kdawg, but fortunately the good people at poem hunter don't; they make this statement on Neruda's page. Whether they are speaking in general terms or if they're referring to their own site content I do not know, haven't looked around to see if they explain what they base it on. Good luck with whatever it is that you're up to!

Find the author Paulo Coelho may be of interest to your girlfriend- he comes from Brazil- he is an author yet his books are written in a very poetic flowery manner. Really enjoy his books + maybe your girlfriend might too. Kahlil Gibran the poet and philosopher may be of interest to her, also.
