I have tried asking the title of a book several times, giving a brief resume, but no success. I notice several other abers have tried recently and failed. Does anyone know of another forum or other site/postal address - where such queries may be directed?
I appreciate such queries are 'long shots'

Many thanks gettinblurry. I didn't find the site easy to use (but that is probably me being dull) but I have posted the question and hopefully I may find the book again.

abebooks used to have a useful forum, but a few years back it got "taken over" by one poster and his giggling coterie and I stopped using it. Just had a quick look and the person still seems to be active, but maybe he's not as annoying as before - may be worth a look?
