Are these the books where he is always called off from a case where some monster is killing poor black people from the projects to deal with the relatively minor case of high profile (ie white) crime-and where the blues playing leads him to the right way to deal with things when Nana tells him how to cope on a dark night on the porch? Every one is different. Ignore me-I've had a bad day and suffered through about 5 of these things.
