Has anyone ever attempted to compile a list of the physical appearance of the characters in Joyce's novel? For example Stephen Dadalus is rather scruffy (Bohemian) and has a bushy moustache,- he he mentioned as adjusting it several times. Has Bloom one ? - most men did at the time but is it mentioned ? are Spectacles ever mentioned ? I ask because I am wanting to make some illustrations and I can imagine howls of protest if I get anything wrong !

Very amusing. Yes I've read the book, have you? I've also spoken to several people who have also read it and found a lot of uncertainty on this question.

Stephen would have had glasses.
Leo would be of a dark complexion. At 38 he'd still have most of his hair.
