Dont feel guilty. As a seller you put the price and they must have worked out that with the postage they will get enough to make it worth their while. However a hardback to Spain they probably didnt make much.
When you've finished it, overcome your guilt by handing it in to a charity shop!

charity shops dont exist in madrid, and cant take it with me to uk on next trip as always limited for space in my 1 bag only when flying ryanair
Print out the following, tuck it inside the book and leave in a public place with the top of the paper showing

PICK ME UP BOOKLOVER
I have read this book and now do not need it , please feel free to take it with you to enjoy then pass on in the same way or keep as you prefer

here are lots of similar schemes quite popular in places like NY apparently
When you've finished Desperation, in my opinion one of King's best, read his alter ego's (Richard Bachman) version. I promise you, you won't be disappointed. Mrs_N
Oops! forgot to include the Richard Bachman book's title. It's, The Regulators.
I love your idea rowanwitch! I wonder if everone was honest and promised not to keep it just how many people would read it and how far the book would travel? The mind boggles!
Don't they have charity shops in Madrid?
I also love rowan's suggestion.

Although, in Brighton, someone would be more likely to nick it, and tear out the pages to roll whacky baccy !
I buy all my books from Amazon Marketplace for as little as possible and when I'm in Spain I give them all to the local British Legion. They resell them to the members and the money goes to the Poppy Appeal and in my local legion we also have adopted an old Gurka and send money to him and his old wife in Nepal.
The scheme is called 'Bookcrossing' www.bookcrossing.com , check it on wikipedia.
You register on the website and get labels to put inside the book, each book gets a number. Leave the book somewhere and log it with the website with booknumber, place left and date (Released). It is then Wild until someone finds it (Caught), they then leave the details on the website. Apart from leaving them somewhere, you can also pass it on to someone you meet or send it to someone anywhere in the world who may be looking for a copy. Using its number you can keep track of it via the website to show how many times it has been released and caught and where it has been. I have been meaning to try it for ages so may give it a go now and see what happens............ (yes I am a sad bookloving geek aren't I! Most of my books are kept in cages for me ONLY to look at, if you love them set them free!)

Hello again,
I have just registered but you have to buy labels, stickers etc in dollars. I'll look into more before I do anything else (stupid sister has just returned from living in the States or I'd have asked her to get me some). Just off to feed my books some worms.
