Just to let those who asked to be informed, the kindle is great. Turned out to be a doddle to use and have so far downloaded about 15 free books and bought 4. It's really spooky watching them just appear..............

They are great aren't they Craft. I wouldn't be without mine now :)

Cazzz, you can go on sites such as FB if you have the 3G one (not sure about the other one) but it is only an experimental browser and is prone to crashing.

Do you ever still buy books with pages?

You can cazzz but I find it easier to browse for the books on my PC. I just make sure the wifi is switched on, on the kindle, then click the buy button on my PC screen and they just appear on the kindle within seconds.

I have the 3G one and I wouldn't be without it. I have used it to send an email in an emergency and to consult Wikipedia when travelling. The facility to change the font size is a boon.

In my experience it doesn't. I'd kill for a computer screen which ran on E-ink.

Well yes, that's a current limitation, if they could get it up to a speed which was okay to type on I would be very happy.
