I haven't seen one, chrissa - often you can get to an auction house site where something's listed, but unless you subscribe, you can't see the details.

Yes, a portrait of my oh as a little boy. It's very good.

not so much a site but a press article last year which indicates up to £2800 for an original.

I can ask a mate of mine on Thursday if you wish as I think he has a subscription....he is in the trade. Whats the size of the picture, subject and is it an original?

could be unusual as most of his paintings seemed to be ships or battles.

I know DT but I would never sell it. It's more to find out for my children. My oh's sister had one done of her at the same time when they were about seven years old. (1958/9)
When I looked for him yesterday, I noticed that he painted a lot of ships too. It is about 3' x 2.5' in size. It was looked at by an auctioneer quite a few years ago, (15) and he told me that portraits never fetch very much at auction. As I said before, it's a very good likeness. I'd be very inyterested to know anything and thank you very much.
