She wrote some wickedly funny crime novels, a mixture of Miss Marple and Tom Sharpe. It is over 13 years since I read one, but the only thing I can remember is a scene set in a cathedral in which the lady deacons (new at the time) had to parade around exclaiming, "I proclaim myself lesbian and witch".
I love the Agatha Raisin novels and have read every one but I cannot remember the above scene, although it is very likely - it is just the sort of thing that would be in one of these books and I cannot remember everything in them.
Yesterday I stated that the ability to play the guitar did not make one a musician. Nothing has happened over the last 24 hours or so to make me re-evaluate.
