Stoneware vase/pot

I have a stoneware pot/vase which I think is studio pottery. I'm trying to identify the potter. On the rim of the base there is a small stamp which looks to me like a stylized owl. Any clues as to how I can identify it?

Hello henryboy I have had a look through my books but cannot find a stylised owl mark. There are many hundred studio potteries so it may be impossible to locate which ine your vase came from.
