I've been looking for a copy for many years now, had one when i was a child and the story was very special to me. I know now that one was available on eBay a few months ago which i missed (:'( ) and was wondering if anybody knew where I could potentially find one. I appreciate they are rare books but am very keen to buy one. Any help will be much appreciated.
Thank You.

someone on here had one to sell three years ago - I don't know if he's still a member! http://www.theanswerb...s/Question627856.html
All I can suggest you do is keep googling the name and author, and see if one comes up. It's a 1954 book though, I don't know how many might have survived.
have you asked in your public library ? They may be able to borrow it for you. if the author has been dead for 70 years or more, you are allowed to photocopy the whole thing.
If the author is British, the book will be available in the 6 National Deposit libraries, which include the British Library and the Bodleian in Oxford
Was her name really Horsely...good gracious?
You have the wrong spelling for her surname (Ursula Horsley Smith) but I have searched under the correct name and have found nothing.

Good luck.
