inflammation of the throat (not tonsils)
2 Answers
I am suffering from an inflammation of the throat.
The swelling is located behind the uvula, at the base of the nasal tubes.
It is a large fleshy area, which seems to be in some sort of grid... and it is very painful even without trying to swallow.
I have excess mucus, which lines this area as well as clogging the esophogus, meaning I have to force acid and/or air up in order to clear the passge.
It is also causing a painful cough, as the swelling is itchy (familiarly like the feeling of an itchy eustation tube)
I have never experienced this before and cannot find out what this area is, never mind what the problem is. I am an occasional smoker, though I used to be a heavy smoker. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
