Name of an author please

My OH and I are trying to recall the name of a female author who has written a series of books which are, I believe semi-autobiographical.

They feature the same 'heroine' in all and the titles all have a number in them - which I believe indicates the number of that novel in the series.

Any help appreciated . TIA

Could it be Janet Evanovich; Stephanie Plum series?
