I've just received a delivery. It was a book from Amazon called Mrs Robinsons Disgrace by Kate Summerscale.

I didn't order it so looked at the delivery note and it's from my Dad.

Whilst it's hugely sweet of him to send me a little suprise pressie, I'm confused. I'm thinking there may be something about the book itself that made him think it suited me.

Has anyone read it and can you give me a brief breakdown of what it's about? Don't give too much away as I will read it, it's just that if he meant it as some sort of funny little thing because of the content I want to be able to go 'oh yeah, I got that straight away'. Bless him.

or did he just click the wrong delivery address?

No, there was a little gift note that he'd selected to include saying, 'To little KB, hope you enjoy it, love Dad'.

Before I saw that I thought it might have been a gift for my SIL b.day tomorrow and called to check. Glad he didn't answer his phone now.
wasn't that the new one, about an adulterous Victorian women? I can't think what you could have in common. Did you enjoy the Suspicions of Mr Whicher perhaps?
I did a search on "Mrs Robinsons Disgrace by Kate Summerscale" and found loads of web sites where the book is reviewed so why not look there.

Here are a couple
