Well, here we are - all but finished........clients happy with it. Just some final clean up, then onto the printer for airbrushing out a couple of blobs on the paper, largely insect residue, and then postcards and tee up a gif or whatever for insertion to their front web page.......just got to reckon on how much for that item.

Already spotted a couple of tidy ups on shadowing the gables etc.....I am finding a photo occasionally shows up more than the original!

Tomorrow me thinks, and hopefully the weather can improve as I have a commission down there, a pretty church door and entrance (can't remember the technical term for the porch in church-speak, window and, if I remember right, a large Grecian-style urn on the other side. You have reminded me, gness, to e-mail the client to see if she wants the main front door open or shut....
Brilliant DT. I wish I had your talent.
oh I like!
DT. So taken with your drawing didn`t ask about Henley. Good day?
Fabulous DT. Pen and ink?
It's fantastic DT. :)

thanks all - no I am not professional, ann - I do commissions, mainly for prints, postcards, cards etc - this one is also going onto a new web page for the store, so I have to price that (?)......(have e-mailed my printer). It pays for the wine bill,...... I have two major lines - one in pubs and hotels and the second in church doors (there's one somewhere on here in this thread). The church doors are popular for weddings and my next client is giving her family prints as they all got married at the church and her younger brother is too, plus 300 or so thank you cards made up. I need some sun now!
Sun? me too - been nailed to the laptop this last week writing a tender (OEJU competitive tendering regs, discuss..)

I have no idea what you'd charge for something like that, tbh, at least several hundred I'd have thought. A local artist charges around a grand for an A3 canvas

well, sloopu my originals go from 250 to 500 (complexity of subject and size) - and, in practice, I don't sell many originals - I only really do them for friends as (i) I don't do hundreds as they take 10 to 12 hours each and I like to have them in my portfolio (ii) it prevents any unscrupulous folk from trying to make their own copies (iii) it generates cashflow over time and when the 3rd postcard order comes in, then I make more than the original.

Prints if direct I sell at 55 mounted and sealed in a bag.....if a retailer or pub is selling on, then the prices are discounted...... My printer deals with a wide range of artist as he uses a technique called "Giclier" which translates to (tom)-cat pee.....but, despite the name, it is fab at picking up the fine detail of my work.
