This is a difficult one. There are two questions which seem to have the same answer but one of them is three words and the other is three words and one word for the nickname. The clues are as follows -
1. I'm late, I'm late for a very important date was NOT his cry (three words, such as King Harold I)
2. Does his nickname imply he was fleet of foot? (three words and one word, which I have as King Harold I - Harefoot)
I think (2) is correct, so what on earth can I put for (1)? Any ideas please?
No, sorry furrypusscat. It has exactly the same suggestions as I already have and it should be noted that in the clue it says NOT in capital letters so this would imply that he was fleet of foot the same as the other one, not slow and unready. Thanks for helping though. You are very kind.
1. Well the white rabbit in Alice in wonderland sang this, but if it was NOT 'his cry', then the other guy was the MAD hatter, so perhaps refers to the madness of King George III. ???
Could be, Winner, but I have George III for the clue Did his flair for gardening give rise to his nickname? (which was Farmer George). What a dilemma!!
Yes, it is Winner, but it is very good of you to give suggestions, and I do appreciate it. I may have to put King Harold I, in desperation, but I would like to get it right if possible. I only have this one left to complete it.
Thanks Brenden but William the Conqueror apparently kept his promise to give up hunting when his queen died and Edward the Confessor owned up to being the founder of Westminster Abbey. I am utterly stumped with this one, and I don't think I am going to get a right answer. Thanks to everyone for helping.
Foxlee, that sounds right and as there is no indication about it being confined to British Kings and Queens I am going to use your answer. Thanks a lot.
