i'm waiting for my reservation of Lost Light to come to my local library. In the meantime, i do have some other Michael Connelly that someone has given me: The Brass Verdict and The Lincoln Lawyer. I know they are not Harry Bosch stories, so would i be ok reading one while i wait?

Bosch does appear in Brass Verdict, but you should read Lincoln Lawyer first, to introduce you to Mickey Haller. Both well worth reading in their own right - you may find you delay starting Lost Light (one of the best Bosch stories).
Read The Lincoln Lawyer first crisgal .These books are linked loosely to Harry Bosch as the main character Mickey Haller is his half brother .
There are four books in this series so far ,the other two being after The Brass Verdict ,The Reversal and the Fifth Witness .

ooh i'm very excited now! right, i'm off to start lincoln lawyer - thank you!

he has a half brother?? He's not mentioned him up to now.
He was mentioned in The Black Ice .

Bosch has a half-brother, Mickey Haller, a Los Angeles attorney who makes his first appearance in the novel The Lincoln Lawyer, although he briefly appears in a flashback in The Black Ice as a boy. Haller is the legitimate son of the attorney who fathered Bosch. In the second Mickey Haller novel, The Brass Verdict, it is revealed that Harry Bosch has known for years of the relationship, but Haller was unaware of it until the end of the book.
I prefer the Lincoln Lawyer series to the Harry Bosch books!!!
Question Author
I remember now. I only read up to "it is revealed that" in your post. I don't want any spoilers!
Sorry I bothered .
Question Author
what?? I appreciate your replies - don't be so sensitive!
I do apologise for snapping like that crisgal .I was feeling tired and achey yesterday and a bit irritable.
No excuse really but I am sorry and do hope you enjoy the book .
Question Author
lol - no worries x
Hope you enjoy lost light Crisgal, its my favourite harry bosch novel. For what its worth, i prefer Bosch than the Mickey Haller books ,particularly the earlier ones.although i would avoid reading" chasing the dime" if i were you.
Question Author
well, i'm only a few chapters in to Lincoln Lawyer and can already tell i prefer Bosch stories - this seems to be written quite differently.
Why not Chasing the Dime then?
I'm picking up Lost Light today - can't wait!
sorry for slow reply crisgal ,just returned, its only my opinion of course , but chasing the dime seems like a book that connelly wrote earlier in his career and was published after he became popular. the reveiws on amazon are pretty poor too. i cant be too critical however most of his other books are excellent. by the way i dont know if you are a fan of Stephen King , but im reading 11.22.63 at the moment and its the best book ive read in years! best wishes ,bb.
