I was on the way home today and i saw a small mouse fully alive near some bushes , i stopped and watched from 10 feet away, in a flash a big CROW swooped down and picked it up with its beak and took it to the other side of the road.Tthe mouse was squeaking for a min or two then the crow finished it off!. I thought they only eat dead mammels, does anyone no if this was normal? ( poor mousey!)

Its not all a pink and fluffy world out there- was up on the Dee Estuary for a huge high tide in Feb- all the voles/mice etc were flushed out of the marsh and had to swim for their lives- most got polished off by crows/gulls/magpies and a large variety of raptors. Watch Springwatch- particularly the bit on the Farne Islands- see how many chicks of various species become food for others.
