I suggested to an earlier post that these were beginning to look like spam.  This weekend, I read an article in the paper that said the craze has really taken off just by word of mouth - without any advertising.  Just out of interest, I'm going to google for the message content and see if it is appearing on other forums as well.

Yes it is appearing on some but not as many as I thought. The message varies and so does the spelling so it is hard to judge - maybe they are genuine after all.

So, for any scoubidous fans, if you Google for:
"how do you make" +scoubidous
you will get 854 hits.  The choice is yours.

Well HAnn I am here to enlighten you.  They are colourful strings that are sold in bags of 50 s or 100 s.  The only way to describe them is to say its like knitting.  Three, four or maybe more strings are weaved together to make long bits of weaved string.  I have two daughters and so many scoobies around the house.  My cats steal them and play with them.  There are half made scoobies lying around the house.  We all have one on our keyring.  They are driving me around the bend.  You can now buy books telling how to make different types of scoobies (so they can lay around the house).  There are two volumes of this book now.  Hysterical laughter ensues ....................................

I really was curious, never heard of these before...however, I believe that I am simply more thankful now that "scoubies" haven't caught on the U.S. (as they seem to have taken over children and households everywhere there in the UK)...don't think I'm missing out on much really...

they've certainly taken over Art & Literature, HAnn. I see another query about them has been posted. I am not going to bother answering it. I notice nobody ever seems to say thanks when you do - gen2's suspicions seem more and more well founded.
