A sports headline in a daily newspaper reads " PADDY THRONE INTO HOT SEAT". (Paddy Jackson replaces Jonny Sexton in Irish rugby team)
Is this proper grammer, or should the "THRONE read "THROWN" or maybe both can be used. Any views?

You obviously mean "grammar"
yes it is thrown - but maybe they were making a pun...?

grammAr is not really relevant with newspaper headlines

Grammer however is a mispelling, rather than bad grammAr ...
Correct grammar is 'thrown' unless there is a pun intended
Grammer - that was funny!
It should of course be THROWN but maybe it's a pun on the word seat, as sports pages love these (Walcott says we're Gunner win the Champions league, etc)
is Walcott suffering from delusions of grandeur yet again?
Walcott is talking through his Arsenal.
Correct Grammer ???

OK, it's GrammAr.
This is a funny thread! I've just spilt my tea sir.prize. That made me laugh.
Okay, I made the Arsenal headline up as an example. Maybe "We're gunner win FA" would have been better
sweet FA? :-)
Sorry Tilly. Have a fresh cup!
Just who was Fanny Adams?
Is there a link?

Do you not see that i spelt Grammar incorrect on purpose to highlight my question, Ha Ha, I will say that anyway. Regards.
Cause ewe did.
SFA was a young woman who was murdered in the 19th Century. About the same time the sevices started to issue tinned meat rations. Some wit connected the two and fanny Adams has found a fame in death that had eluded her in life.
I think sweet FA, sweet Fanny Adams was someone's special grammar
I don't get the connection between a young lady and tinned meat. Did they think it was tinned human? (Pre horsemeat scandal?) Am I being stupid here somewhere? I am still mopping up spilled tea.
Well, they didn't really think it was her in a tin. Apart from anything else there wouldn't have been enough of her to go round. But seeing tinned meat for the first time they must have wondered what type it was.
