Tit for tat and all that, and we must be shown to be fair at all times, instead of just picking on those who happen to have a different skin colour to ours.

But the question that must be asked is "when were the last African war criminals charged"?

/// The report will be publicly released at the Law Society, London, on Tuesday. It comes as the ICC is under mounting pressure to demonstrate a willingness to act against war crimes committed by Western countries – and not solely focus on African nations. Last October, the ICC was criticised by the Ethiopian foreign minister, Tedros Adhanom, who accused it of being "a political instrument targeting Africa and Africans". ///

// Eleven more inquiries are to be held into the conduct of British soldiers while serving in Iraq, it has emerged.

This has now opened the way for 160 further cases of alleged British involvement in the deaths of Iraqis to be brought forward for inquiry.

Hearings could also be held into nearly 800 allegations that British troops broke Article Three of the Convention on Human Rights prohibiting torture. //

Can you depend on that report Gromit, after all it is in the Daily Mail?

/// In response, the Ministry of Defence has ordered that inquest-style hearings are held into the deaths of 11 Iraqi civilians who were killed while British troops operated in the country after the invasion that toppled Saddam Hussein in 2003. ///

Inquest-style hearing eh?

That's okay then, they will most likely be judged "Lawful killings".

AOG,

Actually I posted the Mail line from a month ago because the Indy were claiming their story to ve an 'exclusive' and it ain't.
' Inquest-style hearing eh?

From to 2006 to 2013, the list of African war criminals indicted is: 1 from the Democratic Republic of Congo,2 from Uganda,3 from Central African Republic,1 from Darfur,4 from Sudan,5 from Kenya,6 from Cote d'Ivoire, and 8 from Mali.

Is that enough for you , AOG ?

Only three from the Central African Republic?

Then my answer must be this "not nearly enough". judging by this.

What do you think?
As horrific as that is, it's not a war crime.

AOG, your "not nearly enough" is an improvement on your " But the question that must be asked is 'When were the last African war criminals charged' "?

People get indicted by the ICC for more than a specific offence against one individual by the accused. For 800 breaches of law or the Conventions, they'd need to charge the leader responsible.
