As someone who never liked Harry Potter, I was really surprised by how good JK Rowling's "The Cuckoo's Calling" was. A good thriller and a real page turner.

Try James Patterson's womens club series 1st to Die, is the 1st book with 12 more to follow, he keeps his chapters short so they are an ideal read for holidays, thrillers with a bit of romance and foul play thrown in for good measure

Anything by Robert Goddard, I just love them all.

Any Nicci French book or Simon Kernick thrillers are quite good also.
I know they are not a thrillers but, A Thousand Splendid Suns and the Kite Runner I found fascinating.
