After looking at this YouTube Video showcasing Model Waltzers at 1/24th scale, I thought I would try and build one myself as a wee hobby that I can get stuck into during the summer.

But there seems to be only one website that gives you the plans to build the model to scale and you have to pay for them. (Doug Roseaman)

Surely there must be some amateur model builders that can give you these plans for free as the Waltzers are basically built the same way except for the number of spinning cars - some have 9, some 10. I've hit a wall on the old internet search.

Any suggestions on how to obtain free plans to get me started or point me in the right direction?
TIA.

However they do come with all the pieces and plans to build one! You could use the plans then scale up the parts provided (and bobs your uncle)...

Can't help with the question but do wonder what the plan price is. If spending time & money on a hobby anyway, is the asking price such a barrier ?

The plans are £37. You're absolutely right Old_Geezer - I may just get them if I can't find other alternatives online.
The total costs of building the model including the plans, materials, lights and sequencer control unit can run to about £2000 to £3000 depending on your quality standards.
It would take me about 1 year to build this at my leisure.
Still only thinking about the project at this moment in time. Thanks.

Good thinking twofeathers - it certainly gives me more options to think about.

I may now just postpone my hobby until next year as I've now got too much other stuff to keep me occupied at the moment. Thanks anyway.

Building a model fairground waltzer ride requires precision, attention to detail, and a structured approach. <a href="https://imperialbuilders.com.pk/&quot;>Imperial Builders</a>, known for their expertise in construction and design, offer insights into the step-by-step process of creating a durable and visually appealing waltzer model.

Step 1: Planning and Designing

Before construction begins, it's essential to have a clear blueprint or a 3D model of the waltzers. Imperial Builders recommends using CAD software or printed templates to ensure accurate measurements. Decide on the scale and materials, whether it's wood, plastic, or metal for durability.

Step 2: Creating the Base and Structure

A sturdy base is crucial for stability. Use plywood or acrylic sheets to form the platform. Imperial Builders suggests reinforcing the structure with beams or supports to prevent wobbling. The circular spinning platform should be centrally aligned to ensure smooth movement.

Step 3: Building the Waltzer Cars

Each waltzer car needs a strong yet lightweight frame. Imperial Builders recommends using pre-cut plastic or MDF for easy assembly. Attach small wheels underneath each car to allow smooth rotation on the platform. The seating area can be cushioned for a realistic look.

Step 4: Motorizing the Ride

To achieve motion, install a small motor with gears beneath the platform. A belt drive system can ensure synchronized movement. <a href="https://imperialbuilders.com.pk/&quot;>Construction Company</a> advises using a speed controller to adjust the spinning intensity, replicating a real waltzer ride experience.

Step 5: Painting and Finishing Touches

Bright colors, LED lights, and themed decals bring the model to life. Imperial Builders suggests using waterproof paint and protective coatings to enhance durability. Additional elements like safety bars, fences, and operator booths add realism.

With Imperial Builders’ guidance, you can construct a high-quality model fairground waltzer, showcasing expert craftsmanship and innovative design.
