Can anyone tell me if I have the right syllable count for the following quatrain with alexandrine ( in French ):

La semaison de la marguerite engendre
La beauté resplendissante de la nature
En montrant la majesté de la vérité
Dans un univers de fictions et de mensonges!

should be 12 syllables, and is

A needless alexandrine ends the song
That like a wounded snake drags its slow length along.

I may be wrong, but I think your first line has only 11 syllables (the end of marguerite is elided before the following vowel).
