if you look at a question, and contribute, do you read all the posts that it relates to, even if its lengthy, i wondered this for a while, as i am sure some don't, if its two hundred replies say, would you read them all.

If I'm thinking of answering then yes I will always. I don't know why but I find it a bit dismissive when people obviously don't (by posting almost exactly what someone else has already put).

It depends, emmie - if it's one I've contributed to already, I'll read back to my last post. If it's one I've only just come across - depends on what it's about. If it's mostly chitchat between a few people, I don't bother.
Most of the time, prior to me posting, no. I'm responding to the OP. I may, and often do, read the thread afterwards, unless it is very long.

i do, as i think that if someone has the grace to post something, then i will read what they say, sometimes i won't like it, but feel that it could be a point i hadn't considered. Chit chat can be entertaining

It depends.
If it is something I have posted, then yes. I cannot fairly pick out a best answer unless I have read them all.
If it is a really interesting topic someone has posted, then yes, I will read them all.
Most others I just skip through
Question Author
so how do you know what Abers think on the subject matter.
...and when I say skip through, I mean I glance at all the answers but maybe don't read them in depth.
Question Author
i do, it might take some while, if its funny
I think I agree with Mrs O - I won't just chime in at the end without checking that I'm not repeating what someone else has already put.
The OP asking a question needs to know what all responding Abers think on the subject matter, other ABers that are simply offering their advice do not. Although granted the thread may be improved if they do read it. This may not be the case for Chatterbank threads, but I tend not to notice too often where a thread was posted.

that's that what i think, ^ ^

boxy, crossed post
A non numerous thread which has gone past 2 pages has usually had everything said about it which is worth reading. R&S being a classic example. A numerous thread can still have life in it after hundreds of posts but I wouldn't read them all.
No I dont, some answers are so long and complicated I get lost in them (its a Dyselxia thing) I am more likely to read answers that are short and to the point.
Humorous. Tut.
when i'm thinking of answering then yes I will . I don't know why but I find it dismissive when people don't (by posting what someone else has already put). ;-)

:-))
I subscribe to those am following so theyre hilited when I hit on site.....am awaiting on your comment

I tend to be selective, there are posters whose opinion I'm interested in, then there's the others!
My post has a habit of killing the thread lately so nothing to read afterwards, I usually read the previous ones before clicking the submit button.
