Where Do You Get Your Books?

What are the book buying habits of ABers?

I've historically been a 'must be paper' kinda guy. Much to Mrs Blurry's annoyance, I can spend hours in a 'proper' book shop, browsing, looking for something that grabs me.
However, since buying a Kindle (which I believe I was somewhat mis-sold on by friends, with the promise of cheap books) I now find myself spending almost as much time trawling Amazon for bargains.

I see the benefits of not filling up our (currently stuffed to the rafters) flat with paperbacks & there are 'some' bargains to be had. I also like being able to take just a little tablet size device on holiday.

But still, proper books just smell nice...

Long question short: Paper or E-book?

Oh paper every time....the feel...the smell.....and I do turn down the corners of the pages because I like a book to feel loved.....☺

Mainly buy from Amazon. I will buy paper or kindld depending on what is cheapest (or if I'm going on holiday).

Both! Have a Kindle, haunt the library, love Oxfam (one in the town only sells books) and we do have a non-charity second hand book shop (used to be about four), have Smith's where I get my Telegraph special offers and a Waterstones where I can access dates of new publications of my favourite authors.
Er, like reading.

I'm obsessed with Amazon...both for my kindle addiction,and for 'real' books....they are mostly cookery or anything quite visual. Everything else goes on kindle...what a genius invention!

I'm always in trouble with Trish because if I see books on sale I've got to stop and browse"Proper" book shops,charity shops,market stalls I've got to have a look.Quite often that's all I do but every now and then some thing a bit special turns up.

I never thought I would abandon paper but I love my ereader and almost exclusively read ebooks now.
Our spare room used to be full of books, now I have thousands of ebooks taking up no space at all...wonderful. Plus reading in bed is so much better with an ereader especially one that is backlit.

I've just got an ereader as a pressie after saying for years that only paper would do - so we'll find out soon which is best.

Previously got books from our local market on second-hand days. £1 per book with 50p back when you'd read and returned it - but that meant that all you did was buy more.

Though I do sometimes wonder (i'm kind of a half glass empty person) what happens if Amazon goes to the wall. Do our libraries disappear? Eeek :(
