Can Anyone Speak Latin?

I need to accurately translate the phrase:
"If you're going through hell, keep going" into latin, of course Google isnt the most reliable...

Literal and word by word translation...

(Per definitely takes the accusative, by the way.)
Having said that, I'm sure Cicero would have made a better job of it!

Boo is perfectly correct, of course, in advising that the total accuracy of any translation should be verified before it is indelibly "stamped" anywhere!
A visit to the local secondary school might well produce someone who still teaches the subject; alternatively, you may find a Catholic priest - probably an older one! - who remembers the days when Latin was a central part of their worship.

I don't know about catholic priests and Latin - my son was married in a foreign country, and his local priest in UK had to write a letter in Latin to the priest who was to do the ceremony. It was an open letter, which my son showed me. It was only a couple of sentences, but it was full of mistakes in the Latin. It may have something to do with the Vatican Cardinal who is ( or used to be) in charge of the Latin for official Vatican publications - bulls and encyclicals , and so on. He had to give certificates to student-priests to show they had sufficient Latin, but he would often give these certificates out to students who admitted that they didn't want to learn Latin but were only doing it to qualify for ordination. He did so on the grounds that he didn't want to teach Latin to anyone who didn't want to learn it, so he would say " Not interested in Latin ? here's your certificate, now go away".

I would have thought you would have been overwhelmed with answers. AB has disproportionate number of Latin speakers (about 93% of posters speak Latin)

I have a Latin o level and used to be able to quote passages from Bello Gallico but that was half a century ago!

Latin doesn't exactly lend itself to modern lingo does it? e.g. translate, "fancy staying in tonight, getting a DVD , a curry and a few bevvies"?
