I've recently started reading Stephen King's novel '11.22.63'. It is a story about going back in time and saving JFK from assassination. I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far although I'm not even a quarter of the way through it yet.

Time travel has always fascinated me, and I love hearing of the complex paradoxes that could arise. Now I know time travel is a Sci-Fi fantasy and nothing more, but what would happen, hypothetically, if we did find a portal and took back something like say an iPad, or a computer with the latest OS X on or something?

If you've ever given this any thought, I'd love your response.

Annoying that I missed the 'be' out of the question.
Today's fantasy is tomorrow's commonplace.

Much of the time there won't be supporting tech to maintain or run the device. If scientists / engineers could work out it operated one runs the risk of the human race getting technology it hasn't the maturity to deal safely with yet.
Everyone one would be busy playing candy crush and there would be peace on earth.
