two gang switches

hOW DO I CONNECT THE WIRING TO A TWO GANG ONE WAY SWITCH bASICALLY I have power running tom a two gang switch outside I want to wire up two garden fountains so that they work separately i.e.the right rocker works the right fountain and the left rocker works the left fountain.

The right rocker works the right fountain how do I connect the left rocker so that it will operate.

With the new electrical laws that came in earlier this year, it may not actually be legal for you to do this yourself. You may have to get a professional electrician to do the job or I believe that you can do it and then get a council inspector to approve the work. As far as I know, you can be open to prosecution if you don't comply. I would suggest that you contact your council or an electrician for advice. I assume that you are based in England.

I'm in Scotland and yup I am aware of new legislation.

 

However I want to do this myself..(re cost) then I'll get the local electrician to inspect it so that it compies with all the new regulations.  I am actually in the middle of nowhere nearest main town is 60 miles away.

 

just a small diagramme would suffice.

What supply circuit are your switches connected to or which circuit are you planning on connecting them too?  I'm assuming the 13 amp ring main.  If so and your not just using the standard double 13 amp socket, with a plug on each pump and you're hard wiring into the ring main then you need to use a seperate  FCU (Fused Connection Unit) for each pump.

The power comes from a separate circuit in the garage(that is separate from the house) Circuit breakers etc etc are in place.

However , I undestand what you say and all is now working...Just called Scottish power and theres a wee man coming out tomorrow to inspect it.
