The Great Dental Escape (2)
19 Answers
Handcuffs at the ready, DTC set off across the fields, well the lanes of mid-Cornwall, the mater chained to the car. No, not the outside of it, but the interior, stops for relief at Tescos and then Santander before heading for lunch at an institution that Lady J knows, The Lemon Tree.
One Spanish Omelette and salad later for him, one Welshie Rarebit and not his York belle, and an escorted and guarded loo break, he strode out towards the dental practice.
This time, no loo break, guards hired on all doors, the padlocks unlocked just as Dr Sue came out to render the mater senseless for her bi-annual check-up, the verdict 'fine but she needs to brush better,' the standard spiel for any kid of age between 5 and 9 (and maybe even less), the security fleet standing down once we made it back to the car, the mater in a dazed state, "What is all that about?"
Well after your runner last week, who can blame me, even though a bit of an exaggeration, my reward - well, a small chip in the windscreen but Autoglass to appear before stumps today.
In honour of her escape two weeks ago, (she covered 2.8 miles and a 300ft hill in 55 minutes, aged 81, no stick etc), I thought that you may enjoy this....
Please add any more experiences of elderly rels fleeing security, or dentists!?
