'ladies' is rather a loose term only accurate by the indication they are female. Wags,Chavs and Irish gypsies, none of whom seem to be in possession of a full length mirror.

SOme of them seem not to be badly dressed but more not fully dressed.
There is one showing her bottom without a pair of knickers. A thnking man like er Scweik might well exclaim - my god that girl needs TWO hair styles!

Obviously photographers are there to record the event, and if that includes anyone misbehaving, then that is their job. I agree with AOG, if the organisers want to stop pictures that make their event look down market, they should steward the event properly, and remove ladies (and men) who are worse for wear with drink.

It wouldn't be the Mail if it didn't simultaneously offer it's views on how downmarket some of the dress and behaviour is of these ladies - and then show loads of pics to titillate the tutting readership!!

It makes me laugh at the sheer unintelligent of some anti-Daily Mailers, when they criticise the Mail for showing pictures merely to titivate their readers.

How else would any paper be able to report on the fact that photographers may be removed from the site, for taking certain photographs, if they didn't produce examples of the type of photographs they mean?

Indeed - so we have a Catch-22 in operation.

The Mail publishes pictures of ladies the GN would prefer not to have bandied about, to highlight a news story in which photographers are taking pictures like this - to sell to the Daily Mail!

The Mail does not need 11 photographs and two videos. That is gratuitous.

The women in these pictures probably do not realise that National Hunt racing is predominantly a winter sport. When the Aintree Festival takes place the weather can be hit or miss and so the summer dresses always seem out of place to watch horses run around a sometimes very muddy track. You can see the darker clouds in one of the pictures.

Unlikely - The Guardian doesn't really attract the same prurient readership as The Mail.

Personally I see no need for the picture of the baby feeding - just tell me the story is about a baby breastfeeding, and I'll know what it's about, I don't need a picture to help me out.

But any Picture Editor knows that a photo underlines the impact of a story for a specific readership which is why they (including the Mail) - put them in the paper.

Could the Aintree management not issue a dress code? I think a few years ago ladies weren't allowed into the Royal Enclosure at Ascot wearing trousers or hot pants.
