Beautiful evening down here near Lands End. Its been a lovely day...blue skies, lots of sun and no wind.
I must return to South Wales tomorrow, after two weeks down here. Most days have been wonderful, especially over the Easter Bank holiday.
Cornwall looks super at this time of year. The hedgerows are full of gorse in full bloom, an almost impossibly bright golden yellow. There are still plenty of daffodils out, in the lanes as well as the fields. Lots of primroses and also the forget-me-nots are beginning to flower, along with scarlet pimpernel and masses of celandines.
I understand Lands End has changed a lot in recent years, when we went we walked over the swaying rope bridge, a great experience! Hubby climbed down right to the last rock possible before the "drop" into the crashing foam! (wimpish wife stayed several yards inland!) I bet Health and Safety prevent that now!
We have some super scenery where I live in the Swansea Valley. Wonderful beaches and the Brecon Beacons are just 20 mins away. I am lucky that I have all that so close.
But my heart now lies west of the Tamar !...if I ever win the lottery, I shall move down here as quick as possible !
Do you live near the Gower Peninsula Mikey? We went there in the 70s in the good old days of camping! We have a touring caravan now ..... The Gower was beautiful I remember. You are so fortunate living near a lovely coast - our nearest is Skegness! No contest!
