what is the correct name for the wedge like pieces that you win as you go around the board in trivial pursuit? Are they pieces of pie or pieces of cheese or something else entirely?

They're called wedges in the rules, but call them what you like!
The ancient tradition has always been to refer to them as cheeses, and i shall ask anyone outside if they disagree :)
i disagree they are commonly known as 'pies' round my neck of the woods
In France they are refered to as Camenberts which backs up the cheese side of the argument which is what they have always been known as "in my neck of the woods" on another note can anyone think of a more bizarre Trivial persuit question than Which continent is Grimsby on? from the first edition!?
oooops forgive my spelling error in answer above!
Yup - wedges in the rules, Cheeses round me.

What do you mean 'on which continent is Grimsby'? I presume there are lots of Grimsbys around the world, and not just the bastion of food production, on the east coast! Bizarre question that!

I have been know to call them pies but I am from the North West and Pies are a important part of Northern culture.
Tell me there is only one Grimsby?!
Obo, According to a quick trawl on the web: there is a Grimsby in Canada (in the County of Lincoln, so I assume that at least one of the folks who named it knew of Great Grimsby, Lincs.) near Niagara. That's it. I am frankly appalled. For a town which has had its charter since 1100 and odd, you would have thought it would have spawned more namesakes. Anyhow, what's wrong with the name of Grimsby? Better than 'Fishton upon Humber' which was one of the recommendations made when NE Lincs was set up!
