In case anyone is interested, Sky Arts are currently showing (2pm-5pm) the excellent2011 Globe Theatre production.

I'm very enamoured with the Globe productions that they sometimes show on this channel, the 2012 production of The Taming Of The Shrew that they showed last week was great fun.

Mrs retro spends half her time at the Globe with her old schoolfriend from Warks and the other half at Stratford. :-)
The Globe is excellent for Shakespeare's Comedies I find. Two which spring to mind which I saw there are As You Like It, and several years ago The Merry Wives of Windsor where the performance was further enhanced by the two who played the Wives who were brilliant.

Tragedies don't work so well IMO, although the production of Titus Andronicus was an exception, very dark and macabre (with one or two Groundlings fainting at most performances apparently - usually at Lavinia's entrance after the rape/disfigurement).
Twelfth Night with Mark Rylance and Stephen Fry
The ONLY time I have ever thought Shakespeare funny
