Just listened to the first part of the dramatisation on Radio 4 Extra, and was very impressed. It looks as the second and final part is this Sunday, although both should be available of the iplayer for about 28 days after.

I wish I had known it was being broadcast.

The Chrysalids is my all time favourite book. I first read it when I was at school and have read it dozens of times since.
When I was at university in the 70s it was common for language students in exams to translate an extract from a contemporary English novel into a foreign language. In my first year exams I had to translate a passage from The Midwich Cuckoos into Russian. I can't remember it now but my professor was highly impressed by my efforts.
@mikey

I read this one, in my teens and am bothered by the fact that I can't recall the plot. The memory-jogger doesn't need to be more than a sentence fragment and no spoilers, please as I might be able to enjoy it as a fresh story if my recall really has failed.

Also read Day of the Triffids (after seeing the movie and before the BBC (80s?) version and The Kraaken Wakes.

Midwich Cuckoos… probably not but have seen Village Of the Damned. (I may have become child-phobic as a result). (tic!)

I know there are more titles but they can't be at all famous or quizzes would be teasing us with them.

Cassa....both episodes will be on the iplayer for about 3-4 weeks, so don't panic ! I listened to the 1st episode yesterday, even though it was broadcast live on Sunday.

( and jolly good it was as well ! )

I'll be on the I-player as well, mikey - now I've learned how to find it! :)
Thanks for the heads up, Mikey.

I'll download it to my phone and listen to it at work (HGV driver).
I can plug the phone into the radio and hear it in good quality when on a long boring run..

I remember reading Day of the Triffids, and The Kraken Wakes, but I don't remember if I read this one.
I came to it late, Hopkirk, it's a goodie.
Oh dear, I started listening today, and it's not for me.

It vaguely stirred a memory that I may have tried reading the book, and I suspect I stopped at about the same point.
