Proud Grandma Moment.
11 Answers
There was a proud Mummy moment earlier, so I thought I'd enter this. 10 Yr. old sproglet has had her story published in the national Young Writers just-released book (called 'Fear Itself') not only that, but she was in the top 3 of her age-group. I do a bit of scribbling myself and she tells me that she wants to be a writer. Thank goodness there are such things as creative writing courses these days. Very proud of her. I asked how her SATs had been and she said, 'Cold, I needed my coat on ' - she's got straight A's in English and she is in a form above her chronological age - also not fazed by exams..
So different from my tentative beginnings trying to find confidence in myself - so some things have improved. Blame Smowball!

I love stories.....I love reading, listening to and telling stories......I remember, as a child, writing a story about a bird and a ghost....showing it to my mother and being told to go away and do something useful.....
She wants to be a writer?....Brilliant...just brilliant!

Thank you all so much. I am very, very proud of her - she's a beanpole at the moment (5'5") so needs the confidence of achievement - tallest in her class (I mentioned that she was moved up a year, so you can imagine!). I'm also proud of the way her parents have raised her, manners etc.. One day she will be like her mum and will also be a 6-foot, blonde beauty. Hopefully, she will also be a best-selling author and will save me from penury in my old age!
