Any 'cosy Mystery' Fans That Can Help?

My wife is going mad trying to think of the author or a book title of a series of cosy mysteries set in the British seaside featuring two very different women - one called Fran, the other may be Carole. Also has a very grumpy pub landlord.

I know it's scant information but I bet somebody knows

Sounds like the Fethering Mysteries by Simon Brett
They all have alliterative titles.
